Port Everglades - Terminal 18

Features
Port Everglades – Terminal 18 is the home of Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, the Oasis of the Seas. The world’s largest ship required the world’s largest single ship terminal. Terminal 18 was tripled in size to accommodate the cutting edge in cruise ships. The goal of the Terminal 18 design was to streamline the boarding and debarking process so that it takes roughly 15 minutes, and so that debarkation and boarding can take place concurrently. This project also encompassed a few interesting building challenges as well. Terminal 18 sports a unique entryway. The front entry panel has a 12” cantilevered return poured at a 75°. The return legs start at approximately 3ft and expand to 9ft at the top of the entry panel. There is also a 10° off set in the panel’s face. As part of the Port Everglades Master Plan, it has been projected that 8,000 jobs, $350 million in personal income and over $30 million in state and local taxes will be generated over the next 5 years from Royal Caribbean’s docking in Port Everglades.
