Boreland Parking Garage Features The design of this garage varied from the conventional building structures that are typically constructed with the tilt-up concrete construction method. Due to the size and various panels required, this garage required larger clear spans and heavier loads. Several of the heaviest panels incorporated expanded foam panels into the tilt-up panel construction to reduce the weight to 123,000 pounds. The interior light wall panels also functioned as retaining walls at the ramp to allow a portion of the ramp to be built on grade rather than supported by the double tees, thus providing some additional economies. Excavation spoils were used to build the foundation.
